StrikeTracks brings environmental observations, fishery context, and measured trip guidance together so anglers can better understand a destination before leaving home.
Conditions
Depending on the destination and source, a page may include flow, gage height, water temperature, lake elevation or level, tides, tidal currents, marine observations, wind, weather, and alerts. The same observations are not available everywhere.
Fishery intelligence
Destination pages may include species context, seasonal targets, techniques, lures or flies, access information, and other local fishery notes where they have been configured.
Trip guidance
Where supported, Should I Go and related ratings help evaluate a planning window. Recommendations are decision support, not certainty. Monitoring-backed and Estimated Conditions are different evidence classes; Estimated is lower confidence and is not offered at every destination.
Rivers, lakes, coastal, and offshore destinations
StrikeTracks uses destination-aware models. Rivers, lakes, coastal waters, and offshore destinations are not presented as if they shared one observation set or one condition product.
Depending on the destination and the condition product StrikeTracks supports, a page may show Monitoring-backed Conditions, Estimated Conditions, Information Only, or Unavailable.
- Monitoring-backed Conditions use qualifying current monitoring or data sources where those sources are supported.
- Estimated Conditions are a clearly labeled, lower-confidence class used only where an accepted estimated path exists. Absence of direct monitoring alone does not imply Estimated.
- Information Only means StrikeTracks does not provide a live fishing-condition product for that destination by design. Rivers and lakes can be Information Only. The page may still include useful fishery, access, seasonal, or planning information.
- Unavailable means an active condition product cannot currently produce a trustworthy result. Unavailable does not mean Poor fishing, and it does not mean no product exists.
Live coverage is not uniform. Coastal Estimated Conditions are not an implied general product class. Offshore destinations are currently Information Only for fishing-condition status. When supported, Marine Conditions provide planning context such as official marine forecasts, alerts, or approved observations. Marine Conditions are not a fishing score and are not Estimated Conditions.
